Beyond the Spirit: The Rebirth of a Land between History and Future
Salento is not just the place where Puntamari was born; it is the very soul of our spirit. Yet in recent years the age-old beauty of this land has faced its greatest challenge: Xylella. Watching centuries-old giants turn into lifeless silver sculptures pushed our brand to become not a spectator but an active player in the regeneration of the landscape.
Gin and Territory: Taking a Stand against Xylella
For us, making an artisanal gin from Puglia means first of all protecting the roots it draws inspiration from. Xylella fastidiosa has changed the face of our land, destroying more than 21 million trees and undermining the local economy. Puntamari was born with a promise: part of the proceeds from every single bottle goes to protecting and replanting Salento's olive trees.
This is not just a corporate social responsibility initiative, but a duty towards future generations and towards those who, like us, believe in the priceless value of Mediterranean biodiversity.
The Essence of Mediterranean Gin between History and Future
A true Italian Mediterranean gin must be able to tell the story of the flora it is made from. Our botanicals, including myrtle and rosehip, grow in the shadow of an agricultural history we want to preserve. Supporting reforestation means ensuring that Salento's microclimate and botanical richness keep flourishing, allowing us to distil a product that faithfully mirrors a regenerated nature.
Why a Traceable Commitment Matters
Today, people looking for the best Italian gin don't only judge its taste profile but the real impact of the brand on the world. Puntamari is committed to turning every sip into a concrete gesture. From small-batch distillation in copper stills to direct support for land-care projects, our supply chain is designed to be circular and transparent.
Our Social Commitment
- Project: post-Xylella protection and reforestation in Salento;
- Action: a share of the profits from every bottle sold is donated;
- Goal: to give the Apulian landscape back its age-old identity;
- Philosophy: a gin from Puglia that takes care of its homeland.
